Close your eyes. Take slow, deep breaths. Imagine yourself becoming more and more deeply relaxed with every breath. Allow the sensation of relaxation to wash over your entire body. When you are deeply relaxed you are ready to begin the visualization.

It is your serve. Imagine yourself standing at the baseline. Your opponent is at the other side of the net, ready to receive. Visualize yourself preaparing to serve. Watch yourself bouncing the ball – one bounce, two bounces, three bounces, four bounces – until your are relaxed and ready to serve.

Take a slow, deep breath. Visualize the exact spot in your opponent’s service box where your serve is going to land.

See yourself tossing the ball – high and smooth, just in front of you. Watch as your knees bend. Imagine the swing as you take the racquet back behind your back and then up and out in front of you, reaching high and in front to connect with the ball. Imagine making a perfect connection with the ball as your body, arm and racquet are in alignment.

Hear the sound of the ball hitting the strings and the ‘whoosh’ as the ball rushes through the air and hits the exact perfect spot you had imagined. See your opponent rooted to the spot as the ball screams past him.
