Here are some simple guides for creating motivation:

  • When you are trying to get motivated to perform in any area, identify what your motive is. What your goal is – for doing a certain task or activity in the first place. In this way you will identify the benefits of going ahead. Now think of any obstacles to accomplishing your goals, such as injury, fatigue or doubts. Obstacles may delay your goals, but focusing on your motive will help you find ways to get beyond the obstacles.
  • Often you may have to motivate yourself to do something that you really don’t want to do – unpleasant tasks at at training, school, work …etc. First, break the task down into small, manageable segments. When a task seems easier to do, when you believe it’s possible, motivation is more available. Next, set up a system of rewards. Give yourself a payoff for achieving each segment. For example, buy something nice, eat your favorite food, when you complete a segment.
  • If you are tired of your daily routine, change it slightly to make a new routine. Change is a great motivator and source of energy. Change the layout of your office; change the time of day and place you run; change the foods you eat for dinner; go out to new places; change your usual approach to solving problems
  • Create new challenge that is realistic and fun. Enthusiasm is intricately woven into the fabric of challenge. For example, start a new activity, sport or start to learn new things like a new language; something that get you out of your set routine.
